Description

My half of an art-trade with the Great ~ElectricGecko. Meet his fantastic original character, who leads the greatest line of comic strips: Puck, the ancient fairy of lore. I'll copy and paste the info about her from her ridicously outdated but still freakin' awesome site, written by the one and only Gecko Electric. You might want to check the site too. Go!
So, you thought Shakespeare was just some sad playwright whose idea of 'funny' was to fit as many cross-dressings and puns into a single comedy as he could, hunh? Well, turns out some of his stuff was based on that hideous realm called reality. Puck, more formally known as Robin Goodfellow, was forever immortalized by the bard in his play "A MidSummer Night's Dream," and, much to her chagrin, erroneously portrayed as a male. Hey. Mistakes happen.

Centuries later, Puck finds herself at a low ebb in life, eating CHEEZ WAMS™ and watching soaps, when she discovers a small ewok-like orphan child on her doorstep. Given to fits of hormonally driven mothering, she takes the girl under her wing and begins to work on a degree at McNiven University in their Humanities program, in the search of a better economic bracket and a bigger interest-free government loan.

Given to wearing demure school-girl type uniforms and excessively short mini-skirts, this freckle-faced fairy's a sometimes pretty, sometimes hideous, oftentimes quite human individual who has an enduring love-hate relationship with other people, society, and above all, life.
I remember when Gecko and I were talking about his 10 year-old comic strips. "I'm not sure about how people here will react to my comic strips... they have a little bit of mature content sometimes and back in that time, they didn't please everybody". Well, how's the feedback now, Sir? Puck has quickly become one of my preferred comic strip series of all time; it enthralls me every single day, and at every new comic strip rising on my deviation box. I'm sure that, right after you read some of the strips, you'll get bewitched by Puck's fantastic humour.

But what you see here is Puck in my style. And Gecko complained about giant-headism... Take a look at that! Giant head, big hands, little but sexy body (Puck's mini-skirt adds a touch to it). Puck would look like that if she was part of Monica's universe. Maybe she is, since she appeared in a portrait, at Monica's corridor in Gamma Correction. I'm working with direction of light; it's very important. I've made an arranging of three-dimensional comic strips, and as you can see they're all empty (as a secret message to Gecko to continue doing the strips nowadays after the golden old ones to get over - don't stop the legacy!). The concept of splattered ink used and abused in this drawing's background comes from the incredible Puck's logotype.
